Initiation Gone Wrong

What action should be taken when a student trying to become a part of a fraternity, is found dead? A week ago today, in West Virginia, college freshman Nolan Burch, was found dead. As a high school senior, only a year younger than the victim, it really hits me that once you go off to college, you're officially independent. No one is there to hold your hand and babysit you, all the choices you made are based off your own decisions. So what do you tell a person that is making their own independent choices? How do you try to tell them that many those aren't the best choices to make? Personally, I'd be as honest as possible, maybe even a little blunt about it. But all in all, I wouldn't sugar coat anything because that's not my personality. Especially if it leads to danger. In Nolan's case, I wouldn't even know what to say to his family. How do you come out to parents who just lost a child not much older than me, that maybe his choices are what lead to his death? I would tell them that God has a plan and reason for everything. That maybe, he actually save Nolan from something much more worse that would've happened in the future.
